Moving Polaroids

This project is a research into how we manage personal representation. What we are able to show to a camera when in our “intimate” space and what we are comfortable to show to the public later. I worked with actresses trying to focus on feminity, intimacy and performance. In order to get that intimacy I agreed with them the position of the Polaroid camera in her bedroom and then leave. She then used a timer to take her own pictures which she passed to me through the door without any more contact needed. I then record the development of each Polaroid in video. After I negotiate with them which video to use I added a soundtrack with a monologue that the actress enjoys playing or uses in the occasion of an audition.
